A Christian Presence on the High Street
Open Door is a vibrant community space in Berkhamsted, where there's always something to enjoy.
Their donations café offers a warm welcome to all with refreshments and friendly conversation. And thanks to the many teachers and artists who share their talents with us, they provide a varied and ever-changing programme to suit most age groups.
As a not-for-profit, they're run almost entirely by volunteers. They rely on income from venue hire, exhibitions, classes, donations, grants and other fundraising to cover their costs.

The Way Inn started out as a vision from Marnie Taylor in 1987. She knew there was a need for a 'Pastoral Centre' in Berkhamsted with a listening ear to support the churches in the town and provide for the local people on a day to day basis, whether they are young or old and to give them time, care and attention.
In September 1990 after much planning, The Way Inn opened a Christian Centre on Berkhamsted High street. It included a retail space and we partnered up with the Post Office franchise, which provided financial stability for the venture.
Over the years changes have occurred at The Way Inn. The Bookshop / Christian Resource Centre has grown and is called Shop at 268. It offers a wide variety of gifts and stationary and the premises has become a collection and distribution centre for the Dacorum Foodbank.
